About St Hilda's Ballet School
There's been a ballet school at St Hilda's Church since the 1950's. Although not directly connected to the church itself, we utilise the hall for lessons and exams, appreciating its sprung maple floor and ballet mirrors.
I have been dedicated to studying the Cecchetti Method of ballet training since moving to Newcastle in 2001, embracing its comprehensive approach to dance education.

Our Unique Cecchetti Method
The Cecchetti method, developed by Enrico Cecchetti, structures classes with a holistic view, considering the entire week rather than just individual days. This allows both teachers and dancers to cultivate a well-rounded technique, seamlessly integrating both technical proficiency and artistic expression. It's this approach that sets St Hilda's Ballet School apart in Heaton.

Dance For All
At St Hilda's Ballet School, we believe everyone who steps into the studio is a dancer. We value training the body (regardless of shape or size), nurturing musicality, and instilling discipline through consistent practice. These skills extend far beyond the studio, positively influencing schoolwork and professional life.
Grace and balance are achievable for everyone with dedication and practice, and we foster confidence through performance opportunities.
No-one is "too fat", "too clumsy" or "too tall" to study ballet!

Our Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, my vision is to continue expanding St Hilda's Ballet School and reintroducing exam sessions. I am also immensely proud to teach ballet to the Company at Northern Dance, fostering a strong connection between training and professional performance.
